Delete your CoCo account

Effective 10 September 2026. CoCo is operated by Technohive Solutions Inc., Davao City, Philippines.

This page explains how to delete your account for CoCo (com.technohive.coco), published by Technohive Solutions Inc., and exactly what happens to your data when you do.

Option 1 — delete it yourself, in the app

This is the fastest route and takes effect immediately.

  • Open CoCo and sign in.
  • Go to Profile.
  • Choose Delete account.
  • Confirm. Deletion runs straight away and cannot be undone.

Before you delete, consider using Download my data on the same screen. Once the account is gone we cannot recover your journal entries or your history for you.

Option 2 — ask us by email

If you cannot sign in — you have lost access to your school email, or your account has been deactivated — write to support@counselorconnect.app from the address you registered with, and tell us:

  • your full name;
  • your school;
  • that you are asking for your CoCo account to be deleted.

We may need to confirm it is really you before acting, since a deletion request from the wrong person would destroy someone else's records. We respond within 30 days, and usually much sooner.

A parent or guardian of a student under 18 may make this request on their behalf.

What is deleted

All of this is permanently erased:

  • Your mood, emotion and stress entries, and the text of your journal. Voice recordings you attached to journal entries are not yet removed automatically — email support@counselorconnect.app and we will delete them by hand
  • Your messages with counselors, and your chat rooms and encryption keys
  • Your consultation bookings, session records, reminders and evaluations
  • Your assessment and screening answers, and any AI wellbeing insights about you
  • Referrals that name you
  • Your streaks and activity history
  • Your notifications, notification preferences and device tokens
  • Your consent records and terms agreements

What is kept, and for how long

Some records are anonymized instead of erased: the text you wrote is removed, but what remains still carries your internal account number, so our staff can still match it to you. Some other records are not yet removed at all. We list both, because "we delete everything" would not be true.

RecordWhat survivesKept
Crisis flags That a flag was raised and when. The message that triggered it and the AI's reply are erased. 36 months
Reports you filed about a counselor or a conversation The category, who it concerned, the date, and whether you asked for a different counselor. Your description and the copied messages are erased. 36 months
Feedback you sent us The message. Your name and email are erased. 12 months
Crash and error reports The technical fault, the request that failed, and the data being sent at the time — which can include the message you were sending to the AI companion or the reason you gave for booking a session — together with your account ID, the email address on your account, and the IP address you connected from. Only the device and browser description is removed. 12 months
Your profile row Replaced with anonymized placeholders so records that referenced it do not break.

The reason reports and crisis flags are kept in this stripped form is a safety one. If a student who reported a counselor could erase the report by closing their account, then a pattern of complaints could be made to disappear by outlasting the students who raised them. What is kept is enough to see that a pattern exists. It is not enough to read anyone's words.

These records are not removed by in-app deletion at all: administrator audit entries recording that your account was created or changed (they include your name and email address), alerts and notifications your counselor received about you (they can include your name, student ID number and stress level), records of calls with your counselor, your goals, and your school's pre-registration list. Email support@counselorconnect.app and we will remove by hand what we can.

Each record above is kept for no longer than the period shown. Automatic deletion at those ages is not switched on yet; none of these records has reached its age, and we will switch it on before any does. These records are not anonymous: they still carry your internal account number, and crash and error reports also keep the email address that was on your account, so our staff can still match them to you. They are pseudonymized, not anonymous.

Deleting your account removes your data from CoCo's own systems. Anything already sent to OpenAI to write a reply or a summary is kept by OpenAI under its own retention terms (currently up to 30 days) and we cannot recall it, and notifications already delivered to a phone stay on that phone.

Other things worth knowing

  • Deletion is immediate and permanent. There is no grace period and no undo.
  • Your school is not notified automatically. If you are in active counseling, please tell your guidance office — otherwise a counselor may simply find you gone.
  • Messages you sent to a counselor are deleted with your account. If your counselor exported or wrote notes about a session, those belong to your school's own records, and your school's Data Protection Officer handles requests about them.
  • You can sign up again later with the same school email, but nothing from the deleted account comes back.
